Aromatic aster (Aster oblongifolius)

Also called "Radon's Favorite," we saw this particular aster while walking though the garden adjacent to the Smithsonian "Castle" building on the Mall in Washington DC. Honey bees were rampant on this bunch of flowers.

Periwinkle (Vinca minor)

This is a rather late bloom for this usually-Spring blooming plant. We are trying to grow these as groundcover along the side of our house.

Asiatic Dayflower (Commelina communis)

These blossoms are less than an inch in size. They pop up in clumps near the creek where I walk my dog. This flower was identified via Twitter by David Patton (@dcpatton).
