Let's hear it for evergreens that get confused about when to bloom! (But what is that yellow leaf doing in there among the green?)
These leaves are growing from a tall and still-healthy Sweetgum that fell over the creek during a hurricane-related windstorm.
These will generate barbed "achenes" that hitch rides on animals, dogs, and clothing.
This was very easy to ID -- look at those spots!
